Peter Phelps SQHP (Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice), MHA, GHR.Reg is a hypnotherapist, psychotherapist and counsellor. He is a member of the UK Hypnotherapy Register and as a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy he is bound by the BACP's 'Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy'.

Peter has lived in London most of his life and he has had a broad experience of life having followed more than one career (including having worked in the Civil Service, the Police force and Newham Youth Offending Team, working with young offenders and victims of crime). After discovering therapy via his wife during the late 1990s Peter decided to train as a therapist. In 2001 he completed a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and opened his first practice in Burges Road, East Ham.

He continues to work in Burges Road, but he now also works in premises on Wormwood Street in the City of London, Stratford Advice Arcade and George Lane, South Woodford. Peter has continued his hypnotherapy and counselling training to advanced level, and has trained in a range of other therapeutic approaches including Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and NLP.

Peter likes to help clients overcome emotional and psychological issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, stress, confidence, motivation, unwanted habits, phobias, relationship or communication problems and he can draw on a range of approaches to help clients to change their lives for the better (he has also developed his own effective system of smoking cessation therapy). He believes that empathy and understanding are essential to enable clients to overcome their problems, along with trust, honesty, and knowledge.
